Juno Needs a Home ...

We first met Juno when she was abandoned in a taped-up box outside the Milford Humane shelter in early August 2008. The caregiver cleaning inside heard someone knocking on the door. By the time she got there, a man was getting into a truck. He said he would not take her back. It seems Juno was disposable — no longer wanted, just toss her out.

A veterinarian visit determined two things: Juno was pregnant and FIV positive. After she was moved into a foster home, she gave birth to five kittens on August 28. Four of the five survived, tested negative for FIV and found loving homes. Juno has been retested a number of times and the Western Blot test was the last step to determine she was definitely FIV+.

Juno would be a good pet for somebody who does not already have, and does not plan to have, a multi-cat home. She needs to be the only cat in residence because she becomes aggressive with other cats.

Her foster mother says, "Juno is a beautiful seal gray, with green eyes and a cute black nose. She is as playful as a kitten, but so far does not like the other cats in the house.

"She is very self-entertaining. We can hear her in the bedroom racing around with her balls and mousie and she loves her scratcher and cozy bed. If she gets a home, I will send those things with her. I have to put the other cats in a closed room when I let her wander, because she gets quite agitated.

"She's super cuddly with people though, and loves to snuggle in bed and 'chirps' when we walk in the room. She would make a great single pet."
